Did you know that the U.S. wastes more than $161 billion worth of food each year?
You’re invited to participate in a free training to learn how you can reduce wasted food and save money, hosted by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection.
Reducing Food Waste Using EPA Tips & Tools
Thursday, March 23rd from 2:00 to 4:00 PM
Southern Nevada Health District, Red Rock Room
280 S Decatur Blvd, Las Vegas, NV 89107
RSVP to Rachel Lewison at firstname.lastname@example.org
This interactive training will prepare participants to conduct a food waste assessment that meets the Food Loss and Waste Accounting and Reporting Standard, use EPA food waste tracking tools, and eliminate unnecessary food waste.
Reducing wasted food is of social, environmental, and economic benefit, and this training would be relevant to any institutional or commercial entity that serves, sells, or procures and disposes of food. While we know that food recovery opportunities are still limited in southern Nevada, this training will help participants avoid generating wasted food in the first place, all while saving money and reducing environmental footprint.
